Humanscale’s Horizon LED Task Light is a stunning desk light that marries innovative illumination technology with function and striking aesthetic design. The first task light to utilize Thin Film LED Technology, Horizon produces an ultra-wide footprint of warm, glare-free 3000K light. No bluish-colored light with distracting surface shadows. Horizon’s beautiful light radiates from the task light’s apparently floating lamp head that utilizes a number of high-intensity LEDs surrounding several layers of polycarbonate and optical films. A built-in dimmer control provides seven levels of light intensity and the spherical joints in Horizon’s head and base allow for smooth, fluid and effortless positioning.
Created by award-winning designers Peter Stathis and Michael McCoy for Humanscale, Horizon combines two great traditions in modern design: minimalism and organic form. The task light’s design is composed of three main components: an ultra-thin, rectangular lamp head; an elegant round base; and a minimal support stem connected to the base and lamp head by spherical joints. An organic, membrane-like skin forms the cover for the lens and base, leaving no exposed wiring or mechanical fasteners to distract from the luminous beauty of the light. The result is a task light that is absolutely breathtaking – a feat rarely (if ever) achieved.
